Don't sleep!

J crew's final starts today! This sale never disappoints, you can pick up stripe cardigans and oxford shoes for hella cheap. When I say hella, I mean in comparison to retail price, so don't sleep.

Hands Helping Haiti.

Okay, so the little one didn't want momma taking a flick of her outfit, but i couldn't resist with the humanitarian chic look she had going on. We recently picked up a kids hands helping Haiti tee from J Crew for $25.00. This tee not only looks fresh, it also has a fresh cause. 100 percent of the profits from its sale will be donated to the Clinton-Bush Haiti fund, which is raising funds for immediate, high-impact relief and long-term recovery efforts to help those in Haiti who are most in need of assistance. The tee is custom-designed by J Crew's in-house artists who added handwritten creole phrases to the tee.

We completed the look with a pair of J Crew's city tee leggings, and metallic pink gladiator sandals from H&M

Cocoon Couture Bean Bag Chairs

Before you start thinking about all the shapeless bean bag chairs we’re all more than familiar with, I’m going to stop you with one single image:

Yes, I know. I too was impelled into purchasing one of these dream bean bags for my daughter's library, but a picture speaks a thousand words and in this case all those words have to do with adorable. Cocoon Couture reinvented the awful plastic bean bags we normally see being sold with this vintage inspired chair that is cuter than any chair should ever be allowed to be. Their Bean Bag Covers are made of pinwale cord with embroidery and fabric appliqués and come in a variety of colors that will match any nursery, playroom, livingroom, movie room, bed room, etc. At Arte Bebe for $179 for both cover and beans. Amazon is currently sold out, but they are definitely cheaper there.

Summer has rolled in.

This blog has been on hiatus since October, but summer has rolled in, so the updates shall come.
With that being said the kiddo and I didn't waste any time making the most of our Memorial Day weekend. Our first stop was to the Lawndale Art Center, currently on view there: Round 4, Spoiler, The Stand, and Farming of the Future. This is one of my favorite galleries to take my daughter to, it's a chill spot to check out cool art.

Being that we're MEMBERS now, our next stop was to the Children's Museum. Go dad for hooking us up! Despite the weekend crowd which was a given, good times were had especially outside with the WaterWorks. However, moms let me suggest you bring an oversized floppy sun hat for when you're outside because trust me when I say there is no shade to sit under to watch your child play.

Dia de los Muertos x Lawndale Art Center

Lawndale's 22nd annual Dia de los Muertos exhibition features locally and nationally known artists' interpretations of the traditional tin devotional painting practice known in Mexico as the retablo.

The fambam went last year and it was absolutely amazing. I need to have my husband dig through his hard drive so I can put up some photos. Can't wait to check out this year's exhibit.

On view October 19- November 7, 2009
