Totsy SHOULD NOT be in business.

Websites like Totsy should not be in business. Seriously, I do not know how they stay running, with the massive amounts of complaints consumers are reporting against them. Totsy's grade from the Better Business Bureau is an F.

I am one of those consumers lashing out against Totsy. This comment/opinion will not be deleted, like all the other negative comments customers leave on their Facebook page.

I am an avid online shopping, and never in all my online shopping experience have I dealt with a worst company than Totsy. I placed two separate orders with Totsy. One on October 12, 2010, and the second on October 22, 2010. It is now November 28, 2010 and I still do not have my orders.

I contacted customer service, and they did not provide a clear answer to when my orders will ship. After the first two e-mails they stopped responding to my e-mails altogether. However, Totsy did help themselves by taking money out of my bank account for the items that haven't even shipped yet. Nor do I know when they will ship, since they stopped responding. My estimated shipping dates have come and gone, and I haven't even received a complimentary
e-mail explaining why, or even offering a refund on shipping. I had to contact the BBB on the matter. Hopefully now, I can get a response.

I don't see how this company even advertises toys and other merchandise for Christmas when there is NO WAY the items will be in on time. I would rather pay full price for any item than have to explain to my child that their christmas gift will not be in on time. THE DEALS ON TOTSY ARE NOT WORTH IT. Just look somewhere else. I'm sure you can find equally great deals on other websites.
Cliff notes:

Customer service is wretched.
Delivery dates are unreasonable.
Totsy should not be in business.

Ferb, I know what we're gonna do today!

If you're anything like me your t.v. is stuck on the Disney Channel, more specifically, Phienas and Ferb. My daughter and I have joined the mission to find interesting ways to spend our 104 days of summer vacation, before dreaded work comes around just to end it. Despite the scorching Texas heat, we've been loving our days of complete shenanigans. So in tribute to Phienas and Ferb we recently made a stop to the Disney Store.

I was stoked to see the slew of new Phienas and Ferb merchandise they packed in. Yeah, I know. I'm buying into the whole consumerism bit, but bringing home a 13 inch Agent P. plush is irresistible, if you're a fan. Right now online the Disney Store is offering free shipping on your shipment of $50 or more. Use coupon code: SHIPFIFTY

Remington College: Cuts for Kids

The kiddo and I took advantage of the complimentary haircuts Remington College is currently offering children 17 years old and younger. Let me start by saying, IT'S WORTH GOING! The stylists are professional, nice, and most importantly knowledgeable in their trade. My husband was definitely against the idea of taking our daughter to receive a "free" haircut, however, after I give him the great review that I am sharing with you now, he was pretty impressed with their service. If you decide to take advantage of this great opportunity, let me suggest that you head to the salon before noon. I was told by a stylist the salon gets congested with clients around the lunch hours.

Moms and Dads do not fret. Remington College is also offering 50% off on all adult hair services, this includes: cuts, chemical, facials, waxing, etc. Both cuts for kids and 50% off adult services are being offered until August 20, 2010. Don't sleep!

J crew's final starts today! This sale never disappoints, you can pick up stripe cardigans and oxford shoes for hella cheap. When I say hella, I mean in comparison to retail price, so don't sleep.

Hands Helping Haiti.

Okay, so the little one didn't want momma taking a flick of her outfit, but i couldn't resist with the humanitarian chic look she had going on. We recently picked up a kids hands helping Haiti tee from J Crew for $25.00. This tee not only looks fresh, it also has a fresh cause. 100 percent of the profits from its sale will be donated to the Clinton-Bush Haiti fund, which is raising funds for immediate, high-impact relief and long-term recovery efforts to help those in Haiti who are most in need of assistance. The tee is custom-designed by J Crew's in-house artists who added handwritten creole phrases to the tee.

We completed the look with a pair of J Crew's city tee leggings, and metallic pink gladiator sandals from H&M

Cocoon Couture Bean Bag Chairs

Before you start thinking about all the shapeless bean bag chairs we’re all more than familiar with, I’m going to stop you with one single image:

Yes, I know. I too was impelled into purchasing one of these dream bean bags for my daughter's library, but a picture speaks a thousand words and in this case all those words have to do with adorable. Cocoon Couture reinvented the awful plastic bean bags we normally see being sold with this vintage inspired chair that is cuter than any chair should ever be allowed to be. Their Bean Bag Covers are made of pinwale cord with embroidery and fabric appliqu├ęs and come in a variety of colors that will match any nursery, playroom, livingroom, movie room, bed room, etc. At Arte Bebe for $179 for both cover and beans. Amazon is currently sold out, but they are definitely cheaper there.

Summer has rolled in.

This blog has been on hiatus since October, but summer has rolled in, so the updates shall come.
With that being said the kiddo and I didn't waste any time making the most of our Memorial Day weekend. Our first stop was to the Lawndale Art Center, currently on view there: Round 4, Spoiler, The Stand, and Farming of the Future. This is one of my favorite galleries to take my daughter to, it's a chill spot to check out cool art.

Being that we're MEMBERS now, our next stop was to the Children's Museum. Go dad for hooking us up! Despite the weekend crowd which was a given, good times were had especially outside with the WaterWorks. However, moms let me suggest you bring an oversized floppy sun hat for when you're outside because trust me when I say there is no shade to sit under to watch your child play.
